Guided helicopter adventures from the heart of the Gold Range. Operating with passion, precision, and deep respect for wild places since 1999.
Heli Canada Adventures was founded in 1999 by Bob Shafto, following the successful acquisition of tenure in the Monashee Mountains’ Gold Range.
What began as a clear personal vision evolved into a professional guiding operation grounded in long-term stewardship of an extraordinary alpine landscape.
From the outset, the focus has been consistent: deliver premium mountain experiences in terrain that remains wild, wildlife-rich, and carefully managed.
Guests return year after year for access to pristine glaciers, remote summits, and high alpine basins that define this region of British Columbia.
Decades of operating in the mountains through changing weather, conditions, and objectives have shaped how we guide. That experience allows us to anticipate challenges, adapt when needed, and consistently deliver exceptional experiences for our guests.

Our team is made up of experienced, certified ACMG guides, including Mountain Guides, Ski Guides, Alpine Guides, Rock Guides, and Hiking Guides. We are also members of the Canadian Avalanche Association.
We’re committed to upholding professional standards while sharing our genuine passion for the mountains with others in a fun and safe way.
We guide in small teams and listen carefully to each guest’s objectives. Our role is to apply years of guiding experience in Canada and internationally to create a focused, well-executed mountain adventure that matches your ability and goals.
We believe in honest communication, disciplined decision-making, and respect for wild places. The goal is not simply to complete an itinerary, but to deliver meaningful alpine experiences that guests will relive for years to come.
We operate with smaller helicopters, small groups, and zero permanent infrastructure in the alpine. We walk on rock when possible, avoid fragile flora, respect wildlife, and use existing valley-bottom facilities.
The goal is simple: experience the magic of these mountains and leave them as we found them.
01
We hold formal tenure in the Monashee Mountains’ Gold Range. A defined, managed territory that ensures consistent access to pristine terrain unavailable to competing operators.
02
27 years of guiding in the same terrain means we know every drainage, weather pattern, and summit route. That depth of knowledge translates directly into better, safer adventures for guests.
03
Every guide holds formal ACMG certification in their discipline. We don’t cut corners on qualifications, the mountains demand the highest standard, and so do our guests.
04
Intimate group sizes mean your objectives actually shape the day. We listen, we adapt, and we ensure every guest, from first-timers to seasoned alpinists, is challenged and fulfilled.
05
No permanent infrastructure in the alpine. No high-impact lodges or fixed camps. We access wild terrain by helicopter and leave it exactly as we find it, for the wildlife and the guests who come after.
06
The most honest measure of any guiding operation is repeat guests. Many of our clients have joined us for multiple seasons, some for over a decade. That loyalty is our greatest credential.
